Lord Granville has had under consideration your letter of the 25th enclosing a copy of a despatch for the Officer administering the Government of Hong Kong with respect to the destruction by fire of the "Pereira vessel 'Don Juan'", whilst on her voyage from Macao with a cargo of coolie emigrants on board, and I am directed by his Lordship to transmit to you, for the information of the Earl of Kimberley, the Under Secretary of State for Colonial Affairs.
